Each department began planning their decorations and skits around Halloween as a form of team building. Jason Barnett of Santa Claus and Aubree Brown of Lamar, 14, portrayed shepherds during a live nativity scene Saturday night in Santa Claus. Marty Brown of Gentryville, who portrayed Joseph and other characters during the event, said he takes part in the live nativity to “share the love of Christ.” “We want to share that with everyone so everybody knows that Christmas is more than just presents and gifts,” he said. ”It’s about the birth of our lord and savior Jesus.” The nativity was held for multiple hours Saturday evening with members of Heritage Hills Baptist Church portraying characters in shifts.171209_LiveNativity06_JW.JPG
