Sam Krapf of Jasper, 11, watched a bowler at The Optimist Club of Jasper’s youth bowling league at Eastown Recreation Center in Jasper on Saturday. Eighty seven participants are in the league which meets for six weeks. Krapf's favorite part of bowling is spending time with his friends. The group will sell dog treats and toys they made after church on Sunday as a fundraiser for the Dubois County Humane Society. "A lot of these kids don't go to school together but this is where they worship together," said church council president Becky Julian of Huntingburg. Polar plunge organizer Eric Uebelhor of Ferdinand tossed a plunger award for the oldest participant to his wife Jackie, 60, before the seventh annual polar plunge at the Ferdinand State Forest in Ferdinand on Sunday.
