Clad in firetruck pajamas, Bayron Martinez of Jasper, 3, woke up to Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responding to a house fire next door in Jasper on Tuesday morning. Alongside his uncle Donnie Collins of Jasper, Bayron watched the firefighters work on their neighbor's home from his perch on top of his aunt and uncle's car.

Lynn Charls of Dodge Center, Minn. worked to restore a brass table at the home of her boyfriend, Joel Helming, in Portersville on Monday evening. "When I first started cleaning it, I wasn't even sure what metal it was because it was so tarnished," Charls said. After over 20 hours of work, the table revealed itself to be shiny solid brass. "Every time I think I'm close to being done, I do something else to make it even better."
