Skiers and snowboarders zipped down Powerline, an intermediate trail at Paoli Peaks Ski Resort in Paoli, on Feb. 13. Paoli Peaks opened in 1978 and has been a winter staple in southern Indiana ever since. Despite inconsistent winter weather in the area, the resort can stay open because there are enough cold days to produce snow that builds a base.
