Because it was nice out, Lauren said she promised them some time outside after school if they finished their homework and chores in time. Emma just finished up her third season with Jasper Youth Hoops and her brother plans to start playing next season. Tuesday's temperatures reached the low 50s and temperatures are forecast to stay in the 50s today before falling to the 30s throughout the rest of the week. Possible snowfall is forecast throughout the weekend.

Everett Craig of Huntingburg, 3, listened to coach Derek Bolling of Huntingburg explain how tot shoot a basket during Bitty Basketball at the Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand on Tuesday evening. The program teaches children ages 3 through kindergarten the basketball basics of shooting, passing, dribbling and defending, as well teamwork, sharing, listening and following directions. There are 147 players on 24 teams this year. "You can see the improvement throughout the five-week program plus you can watch the friendships form," said program director Christine Kleaving.
